Full Review of Absolute Poker

Summary of Absolute Poker
Absolute Poker is a mid sized poker room with a solid player base. Bear in mind that this is an independent poker room and not part of any network so all players are actually playing at Absolute Poker. Recently Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet started to collaborate and money can easily be transferred between the two poker rooms, but they still have separate player bases.

There was a recent controversy concerning Absolute Poker, where a former employee was using a super-user account to cheat and win money. But he was exposed and Absolute seems to have dealt with the issue, no similar incidents have been reported since.

The game selection is good and they offer rarer treats such as H.O.R.S.E and Razz, but the major part of the players is found in the low and mid limit Hold'em section. The software is top-notch. It looks ok, and runs perfectly and has many useful features. Absolute Poker is a really good choice if you are new to poker; the games are definitely beatable and the sign-up bonus is one of the best in the industry.

Promotions and Bonus Information
Absolute Poker offers one of the best sign up bonuses available on the internet. Any deposit up to $500 is matched by 100%, which is a very good deposit bonus. The refer-a-friend bonus also looks interesting. When you refer a friend and he/she has played 200 raked hands your account is credited with $75 and your friend's account with $50.

Absolute Poker also offers many good free rolls and satellites to the WSOP. The poker room often has lucrative reload bonuses available for loyal players. Different reload bonus offers are usually available 6-7 time every month usually ranges from 15% to 100%. There is also a VIP program which the loyal player can benefit from.

Poker Traffic
The cash-game traffic is ok and constantly growing. There are around 2,000 cash game players online during peak hours. If you play low or mid stakes Hold'em you can always find a game where the competition is very soft. If you wish to play with higher stakes there are further between the games, but it is not impossible to get some high-stake action from time to time.
There are rarely that many games going on in the Seven Card Stud section, but the Omaha section has seen an increase in traffic lately. The tournament traffic is decent and at peak hours there are almost 10,000 tournament players active.

Software & Graphics
Absolute Poker is an independent poker room and they have created one of internet's best poker software. It suffers from very few glitches and there is never any downtime. All games run fast and reliably, and the graphics and sounds are decent. This poker room might not be the most beautiful, but the games are easy to overview and that is the only thing most poker players care about.

The software has quite a few good features such as; find a player, hand history game stats and note taking. Absolute poker also has a "private tournament option", which allows players to create tournaments with their friends. There is also a mini-view allowing you to change the table size as you please and you can also cascade active tables automatically. Both these functions are great for multi-tabling.

Some things could be improved. The game can sometimes be a bit on the slow side and animations can’t be turned off. And if you turn off the sound effects (which can be annoying) you also turn off the alert sounds. We hope Absolute Poker will fix this glitch soon. But overall Absolute has one of the best poker platforms in the industry.

Game Variety
The game variety is pretty decent. Absolute Poker offers fixed and no limit Texas Hold'em, which can be played 1 on 1, short handed or full ring. You can also play Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Razz.

These games are available in fixed, pot and no limit. Texas Hold'em fixed limit games range from $150/$300 down to $0.02/$0.04 and no limit Hold'em games from $5/$10 down to $0.05/$0.10.
