Double Or Nothing SNGs – Really great Bankroll Builder! |
|
These single-table tournaments start with 10(6) players and stop when there are 5(3) players remaining.
At this point the 5(3) remaining players get doubled their buy-in, while the 5(3) eliminated players get nothing.
Turbo (3 or 5 minute) and Standard (7-10 minute) blinds depending on what site you will play on.
You only need 2 or 3 players in each game who do not adjust correctly to these games and bust early to make you big profits
over time – and most games will have more than this number!
The optimal poker decisions against most opponents are very straightforward – you will be folding most of the time,
those hands you do play will be usually be decided pre-flop.
It is possible to play more tables at once than on regular SnGs,this increases your hourly rate – and thus your poker
bankroll.
Double or Nothing Sit N Goes are actually much faster than regular 1-table tournaments, the average length of a turbo DoN is only about 25 to 30 minutes, this increases your income even more.
Because the aggression factor in these special type of SnG is low (and you are less likely to have a long run without cashing due to the half / half payout structure), they can be played with a lower bankrollmanagement.
We suggest 20-30 buy-ins should be more than enough while you are building up your bankroll at the lower levels.
Double Or Nothing SNGs – Basic strategy
In this text we want do introduce you in the playing of a Full ring regular Double-or-Nothing SNG Tournament.
Of course this is a basic strategy for beginners, so you will not be able to copy this strategy on higher stakes to 100%.
On lower stakes up to 10$ you will be a winning player if you don´t turn off your brain while playing.
The basic rule to build a bankroll with Double-or-Nothings is to understand what the ICM is and how to use it.
But that is a general rule for regular SNGs too, so we don´t want to talk about this topic in this article.
Generally you don´t limp in a Double-or-Nothing, except of small pockets for set value in early levels.
Also we don´t call a raise, if we want to play after someone had risen, We re-raise or go all-in
if we commit us to the pot.
After we raised pre-flop, we usually do a contibet, except of a multihand in which are more than 2 others
in and we didnt hit the board.
If the contibet is getting called, only the nuts are played, if the board is draw heavy or paired and you set your opponent
on a range that could fit to that board – then fold.
Don´t try to play some tricky poker or a bluff - that is not the right kind of Sit and Go for.
Just play a straight forwarded style and try to get as much as chips in the pot before flop.
